New Beginnings

Is it September already? Finally I feel like we are crawling out of the proverbial hole. The last few months, since April to be exact, have been a whirlwind to say the least. We took over For the Love of Art studio: its location, its name, the paintings, etc… However, we basically started from the ground up with our marketing strategies. The previous methods prior to our ownership were no longer feasible or desirable for us and we had to look for other ways of getting the word out about our studio and all it has to offer the Charleston community here in South Carolina. We are still continuing to strategize and develop the best possible way for this. So for now you can now find us on Facebook, Instagram, Hulafrog, Charleston.com, Google, Trip Advisor, Yelp and Eventbrite.

We are excited to have 2 artists with us as well as myself, who will be running classes on most days of the week. We are however closed on Sundays. I guess we’re like Chickfila in that regard, ha! Sundays and Mondays are available for the occasional private party by request though.

Some of our weekday classes include:

  • Paint and Coffee Classes (targeted for Seniors 55+ (special discount), stay at home parents, or anyone available and wanting to join us for a class during a Tuesday early afternoon.

  • DaVinci Kids Classes that are now for 2 hours after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6pm.

  • Traditional Paint and Sip Classes on Wed, Thurs, Friday, nights and 3 different times on Saturdays.

  • Mommy and Me Classes are once a month.

  • Paint your Pet Events are once a month.

  • DIY Open Studio Sessions available on Thursdays between 10-2pm. You choose painting.

  • Special Workshops through out of various other types of art including but not limited to: Macrame, Crafting, Vision Boards and Collages, Water Colors, Painting on wood, glass or other surfaces, etc…

Here at For the Love of Art we are absolutely smitten with acrylic painting on canvas. It is our passion and we want to help locals, children, out of town guests, etc…share in the passion by seeing how incredibly awesome it is to come into a fun, no stress, social art class environment with some great music, drinks, snacks and friends and create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece of their very own. Not only is it fun, but it’s relaxing, it’s proven to relieve stress, help you refocus, spark creativity and have more joy in your soul. When was the last time you engaged in art? For some of us it was back in grade school and we hated it, but what if you’ve changed? What if you need it and just don’t know it yet? I think all human beings were created to be creative in some way! Maybe you can tap into that by joining us for an art class and having an open mind as we help you step-by-step create something we think you’ll be darn proud of.

It’s a new beginning for us with this studio and we want to help others create new beginnings in the area of art and creative expression in their lives.

I plan to update this blog at least once a month if not more to keep you current on things going on at our studio as well as helpful hints, tricks and ideas for adding or improving the art in your life!

We hope to see y’all soon! Thanks so much for your support and referrals. We appreciate all of our patrons.
